  • The private screening of this video, which will be officially released on December 21, opens up a space for reflection on the value of connecting and validating feelings as the driving force behind our dreams.

On December 8, a select group of friends, followers, and readers enjoyed the private presentation of Memento Vivere, the video inspired by Maura Abad’s first book of poems, entitled “42,” which was recently published. The presentation took place at JW Marriot Hotel, Marco Island, FL, in the afternoon.

Memento Vivere, the 10-minute short film based on Maura’s work, reflects the range of emotions the author experienced following the death of her father, which fueled her to start writing. The emotional impact of this loss was transformed into a creative impulse that resulted in two books of poems, a website, several articles, and this short film, which rescues pain and loss as mobilizing elements of a new vision of life and the value of existence itself.

The video focuses on the poems from the book “42,” the author’s first collection of poems, and uses a careful selection of images and beautiful visual language to show this journey into the soul, the ability to emerge from difficulties and ultimately become better people. In this book, the poems engage in dialogue with the reader, raising fundamental questions such as the fleeting nature of moments, the passion for living, the intensity of emotions, and the choice to live life consciously. Immersing ourselves in the reading of “Sleep or awake” ,“Why I am really crying for” or “Under the sunflowers” brings us closer to a dimension of feelings with which it is very easy to identify.

“I made this video as a space for connection, so that people can connect with their emotions, whatever they may be, and to express that despite losing a loved one, in this case my father, it is possible to move forward. We all have that impulse to continue, to transcend, and to leave our mark. We cannot give up who we are and what we want because of pain. In this case, for me, moving forward and continuing to grow is also a way of honoring my father; continuing with my own life and my dreams is the best tribute I can pay him,” said the author regarding this private presentation.

The official presentation of the video Memento Vivere, whose etymology is “remember to live,” will take place on December 21, at 8 p.m ET, via Instagram, Facebook, X, Substack, and LinkedIn. It will subsequently be available on the website.
