  • In this second short film, Maura Abad renews her artistic partnership with Ecuadorian filmmaker Alberto Pablo Rivera and explores the value of creativity and artistic expression as a way of understanding life and the world around us.

The new short film produced and written by Maura Abad, “From Out There,” will be released today, March 3, 2026, at 8:00 p.m. (ET), on Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube y Facebook. Also available at https://mauraabad.me/ . This new work is another step forward for Maura as a producer and writer, focusing her work on raising awareness about our role in the state of affairs and delving into the idea that we are more than just intelligently organized matter floating in the cosmos: we are Humanity, and we have the power to change the course of things.

Last year, Maura released her first short film, Memento Vivere, directed by Ecuadorian filmmaker Alberto Pablo Rivera and inspired by her first book of poems, 42 Poems: it is all about the context. Maura produced and co-wrote this short film, filled with evocative images that tell a story of loss, grief, resilience, and reconciliation with life. With “From Out There,” this winning duo is back, as it is directed by Alberto Pablo and written and produced by Maura.

The book “42 Poems: it is all about the context” marks the beginning of Maura Abad’s creative career and emerged as the author’s response to a moment of extreme emotional vulnerability while mourning the death of her father. This book was followed by a second collection of poems, “One frame at a time with Awareness,” and then, Memento Vivere was launched with great success on the Internet. All these works share a common thread: the ability to recover from pain and loss, the effort to find meaning in life despite difficult times, and the inestimable value of existing and finding pleasure and gratitude in the small things in life, in love, in everyday existence.

This new short film will be an experience that Maura’s fans cannot miss. Tonight, across various platforms, we will once again enjoy the visual magic of Alberto Pablo and the profound and thoughtful creativity that Abad has been developing and will continue to grow before her audience.
