Good news for fans of Maura Abad’s work as an executive producer: her cinematic debut, Memento Vivere, has been nominated for the WSXA Paris International Film Festival.
The short film Memento Vivere was produced by Maura Abad, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Ecuadorian director Alberto Pablo Rivera. The power of the images and carefully crafted cinematography, in a story told with very little dialogue, were the visual elements Alberto relied on to develop the plot, based on Maura Abad’s first poetry collection: “42 Poems, It’s All About the Context.” The performances by renowned actors Frances Swett and Marcelo Galvez added an extra touch of excellence to a work that has transcended national borders to shine on various international stages.
The WSXA Paris International Film Festival, along with ARFF International, are international competitions held in Berlin, Amsterdam, Paris, and Barcelona that accept film submissions from around the world via the FilmFreeway platform, with the goal of showcasing new artists and providing opportunities for emerging filmmakers, actors, and producers to express themselves. The winning films are screened at exclusive events and online, thereby providing a high level of exposure for artists and directors.
